VPS Region NCE represents the corporate product & technology organisation Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) in the 6+ GW p.a. regional business unit Northern & Central Europe (NCE), spanning west to east from Ireland to Kazakhstan and north to south from Norway to Uzbekistan and across the spectrum of Sustainable Energy Solutions with On- & Offshore wind at the core. The role of the (Lead) Siting Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) is responsible for turbine siting and project optimisation, representing Vestas at relevant industry conferences or working groups as well as establishing and growing strategic relationships with engineering counterparts within Vestas key customers and influential third party consultants. The Lead Siting Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) will be assigned to Vestas' siting activities mainly in the German market as part of the region of Northern and Central Europe.

Your main responsibilities as (Lead) Siting Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) will be to act as an outwards-focused technical customer advisor ensuring we present fully optimised wind power plant layouts and wind turbine configurations on a bid or project request as well as reviewing and optimising customer proposed layouts.
- Develop project-specific siting technical solutions to maximize project value while solidly handling technical risks
- Utilize knowledge of Vestas turbines and regional wind conditions to provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders
- Identify market requirements and trends to feedback towards the product development team and to promote Vestas products & solutions within the German market
- Enable efficient interfaces between Sales, Technical Functions and external stakeholders
- Ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional and global siting teams through coaching, mentoring and open feedback
- Defend Vestas siting results and support customers' efforts to finance Vestas turbines with third-party consultants
Profile :
- M.Sc or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems including 5+ years' experience in a similar position
- Experience in IEC or FGW standards dor wind turbine design, power performance or noise testing
- Knowledge and skills in working with software applications like Windpro and coding are beneficial
- Knowledge of common practices in site suitability assessments in the German market is beneficial
- Besides all technical aspects, you'll need to have impeccable customer service awareness

- High level of communication and negotiation skills with fluency in English and German language required, both written and spoken
- Highly organised and able to prioritize daily work in a fast-moving environment
